WHAT IS IT?
SkinPen creates micro-channels (microscopic holes) at a rate of 1600 per second. These wounds stimulate your skin, muscles kicking its healing process into high gear. Without relying on heat or chemicals, so the results are natural and safe for all skin tones and types.
SkinPen follows a 3 step process –
Inflammation
SkinPen’s microneedles pierce the skin, triggering your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow, and begin to create new tissue.
Proliferation
The micro-wounds created by SkinPen are rebuilt with new granulation cells that include collagen proteins. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
Remodeling
Remodeling the wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels which are comprised of rich collagen and elastin proteins. These proteins improve skin youthfulness.
WHO IS IT FOR?
SkinPen Microneedling is safe for all skin types & colours. It is used for the treatment of acne scars, acne marks, fine lines & wrinkles, sagging skin, pigmentation, stretch marks & overall skin rejuvenation.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
We usually advise 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart when treating concerns with SkinPen. Results do vary and the amount of treatments required will be discussed with you upon consultation. Maintenance sessions will be required also, most clients usually come back once or twice a year to top up their results.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM A MICRO NEEDLING SESSION?
During the treatment, you may experience some mild discomfort however it is tolerable and numbing cream can be applied if you we are treating at a deeper depth.
After the treatment, your skin may be slightly red and flushed in appearance, similar to moderate sunburn. Heat & a stinging sensation may also be felt and skin may feel tight and dry, however, this is alleviated with a soothing post-procedure healing gel from SkinPen which you will take home with you.
